Leadership by good example
Point four is leadership by good example.
Now this might sound very obvious but in training videos many times the wrong thing is shown.
Something's blocking a fire escape; somebody's being rude to a customer. This is not how people learn.
They learn by good example and I know many of you know this already but in video it's so tempting to show the wrong thing.
So if you really must show the wrong thing if you are blocking the fire escape with a hydrant then have a member of staff move it. Let it be seen that you've fixed the problem.
Likewise if somebody's being rude to a customer in store then show the corrected situation.Show how it should be done but where possible avoid bad example.
Good example is the best form of leadership.
