BUSINESS VIDEO MASTERCLASS
PART 3 - AVOIDING MISTAKES WHILE YOUR VIDEO IS BEING PRODUCED
A visual roadmap to your video production
Here’s a useful roadmap to help you visualise the video production process.
Research & Discovery
is where it starts, taking a close look at customers, the marketplace and competitors, as well yourself, and your Remarkable Proposition - then finding out what makes it all tick in your favour.
is driven by the research results combined with your experience, which in turn drives the rest of the video.
are obviously critical, ensuring you, your colleagues, and your scriptwriter, are always on the same track together.
is about matching visuals to the text of the script, creating the image you want.
The outcome is a doc for you to approve, that either directly shows with illustrations, or explains in words, what each image is.
is the process of getting all the materials together, whether live footage, or bought in illustrations & artwork, or voiceover and music, and anything else that needs to be acquired.
is where editing and animation takes place, and you the client can take a back seat while the studio magic happens.
A Rough Cut
is the first cut of the video that you’ll see. Rough Cuts are usually far from rough. Often they’re almost perfect.
Amends & tweaks
are the final polish, where you can perfect each scene, making comments for the studio team to carry out.
A 2nd Draft Approval
confirms the video is perfect.
is normally an mp4 file, either 1080 resolution or 4k or both.
is the tricky bit, as even though the video is complete, it still needs posting on your site, youtube, or facebook. This needs careful thought. Ideally it should be planned in the research & discovery stage.
is the bit video producers like, and delighted customers enjoy doing.
Knowing your video production roadmap helps you anticipate, as well as understand.
