1: You can show your potential video supplier your ideas concisely, enabling them to understand your message, and generally give them some very useful clues.

2: You can specify accurately in advance the runtime your video will need; ie, how much you’re going to pay.

You’re eliminating guesswork (and guesstimate prices)

3: You won’t get caught brainlessly parroting “2 minute video please”, without knowing the implications of what this might mean

- then finding out later that 2 minutes wasn’t enough, or was too much. You won’t under-specify and struggle for budget later.

I might also add that it’s very satisfying to see your own trial script written out by you.

It builds your confidence, and makes you feel like you know what you’re doing (which of course we all do 🙂
