A United Nations agency has recently approved Super Hi-Vision 8K television.

So what actually does this mean?

Well, we’ll begin at the beginning.

When HD TV came out, it was well received. People were amazed by its previously unequaled quality.

And though the average consumer is still impressed - but no longer amazed.

They’re looking for something better.

So let’s give them something that’s 16 times the quality.

Something like Super Hi-Vision 8K television.

The approval

According to the BBC, the United Nations began to review this standard in May of this year. As no nation voiced any objection, it was approved 3 months later.

So it’s official, Super Hi-Vision 8K is the future standard of television broadcast.

A standard that the BBC report will "reproduce the feeling of life and offer a sense of being present".

What it means for video and businesses that use and produce video

Expectations are about to rise - significantly.

And video production companies need to be aware of this.

Currently, there are only 3 cameras in the world that are capable of shooting at this standard - all of which are made by the Japanese television broadcaster NHK.

But - considering that fact that large electronic manufacturers such as LG want to start selling Super Hi-Vision televisions by 2020 - a lot more will definitely need to be made.

And Studio Rossiter will be monitoring this - so watch this space!

The future is very clear

We want our viewing experiences to be bigger and better, so only companies that:

> are willing to invest in new technology

> and are willing to embrace changes such as this

Will be able to cater for the audience of the future.
