WINNER - New Media Award of the Year
We're deeply proud and honoured to announce that we've just won this year's New Media Award of the Year, beating previous winner Freehand Graphics, and also Reebok.

Some of you may like to know that the first thing that crossed my mind once this euphoric news had sank in was how grateful I am to all of you, our customers.

Every job you've given us has helped us to learn something new, and make some leap forward.

Now, finally, all this learning has added up to winning a national award of this stature. For us, all our customers are the real winners. Thank you!

New Media - Microsite Launch
To help you understand more about new media, and help answer the enquiries we receive, we've extended our website to include a New Media Microsite (whassa microsite?).

It offers clear explanations of New Media, how it works, what its components are, its many benefits to both users and commissioners, and details of how it differs from all other previous forms of communication.

More details at www.rossiterandco.com/newmedia-01-intro.htm

Video - Peer Group Influence and Changing Workforce Attitudes
We know that today's workforces respond poorly to old fashioned authoritarian-style training messages.

What we find in many cases is that training issues are straightforward enough, but underlying attitudes still create a major problem.

Without a shift in attitudes the training simply isn't as effective as it could be.

We've gone some way towards pioneering new methods to achieve the required attitude shifts by using Peer Group Influence and Discussion.

It's based around a package we'll be announcing shortly.

The news will be posted on our website, but if you're interested in this topic today, then do email me for details by replying to this mail with the subject Changing Workforce Attitudes.

Multimedia - Authoring moves up a gear
Our multimedia authoring software has just received a seriously important upgrade.

High on the list is that it's now a lot simpler and quicker to upgrade multimedias in the future.

This means it costs less to keep your multimedia up to date.

Other important improvements are in sound, animation and video, which now make better use of the computer they're played on to achieve more powerful effects.

Other enhancements include better database integration which is extremely useful in training applications for keeping records and scores, and in producing more sophisticated user choice operations, eg, generating a risk assessment.

The Joke
The Stella Awards for the Most Frivolous Lawsuits:

- $2.9M for an 81 year old lady spilling a cup of hot coffee on her own groin and buttocks in a MacDonalds.

- $75,000 for having one's hand run over while stealing a neighbour's hubcaps.

- $500,000 for a burglar who accidentally locked himself in a garage for a week, subsisting only on dry dog food and Pepsi. Oi!
