Music, Sound & VideoohH!
When a door slams you want to hear it crash! When a video effect
travels across the screen you want to hear it go whoosh. But
in the corporate field, syncing audio or music to video has always
been an expensive business for more than for basic effects.
To get past this barrier, we've upgraded our audio production
suite to sync up to our video edit suite, using the same software
that Hans Zimmer used to score Gladiator. So now music and sound
tracks can hit exactly on the mark with video, adding another
dimension of realism to production.
For the corporate user this means you can expect anything up
to 32 track music & sound tracks all perfectly synced to
your video. Exciting stuff!
Video Effects go 24 track
This summer we've run rampart with video effects. New software
and a hardware upgrade (another one!) to the video suite mean
that some of our productions are now up to 24 tracks. That's
24 layers of images superimposed on top of one another. Compare
this with just two layers just 5 years ago. And it looks great!
For example, the simple caption is no longer the simple caption.
First, the background is a mix of animation and video. Then,
say, 6 little videos fly on like postage stamps but much more
interestingly and involvingly.
Then the caption text wafts over, curls, and shrinks down into
place. And this is just the beginning. 24 tracks offers the freedom
to create ideas that were never before possible in the sub £50k
budget. Which I guess means most of us.
New Media Taking Off!
It's becoming rare that customers just want a multimedia or a
video from us. Many of our enquiries are now for a video, multimedia
and website that link together and complement each other. This
is seen as an innovatory and powerful combination for getting
the message across.
As we predicted over two years ago, this new media style of
communication is slowly edging out the paper brochure. We like
this. Not only does new media have all the impact of sight and
sound, which paper doesn't, it's also more environmentally sustainable,
which can't be bad.
In the pipeline
Thank you, everybody. This is our best year yet since we started
thirteen years ago. Video, multimedia or web productions are
in the pipeline for AMEC, Pilkington, Carillion, National Association
of Steel Stockholders, Matalan and Luton Council, covering
the whole range from corporate ID to safety to management training.
