Two kinds of retail video here:
- Instore B2C video, usually a new product demo DVD.
- B2B Video product presentation to retail purchasing managers and buyers
- B2B services to retailers video
Instore B2C video is discussed in the Company Video Production Styles section, under B2C video.
This type of DVD can also be streamed from a popular website where it’s likely to be seen.
Product presentations to retail purchasing managers and buyers is obviously quite different. The style of B2B video is less important than the need to present your company’s products as the need to show why they’re especially unique, and worth stocking.
Obviously, retail buyers are tough and, in some cases, ruthless. They will take your company’s product ideas and clone them with another cheaper supplier. Or they will try and make your product feel less special than it is, and therefore cheaper.
A Retail Buyer video can make an extraordinarily memorable case for the special service and products you offer that can’t be cloned, or easily sourced elsewhere.
B2B Services-to-Retailer DVD can include staffing, servicing, refurbishment and all non-product solutions.
The key here is relevance to the fast changing world of retail. Whatever is said has to be up to date, for example what used to be called Returns, are now known as Reverse Logistics, and so on. This video will also benefit from streaming.
