Presenter-led Video, DVD & Stream

Professional presenters are commonly used in company videos and business DVDs that are produced in a more documentary style or, more commonly, as lifestyle product videos, such as holiday tours, labour saving gadgets, investments,in fact anything that might be seen on Shopping Channel tv.

But presenters can equally front a serious business video, such as “here is a landfill .. land that needs remediating …” then describing a land remediation process, or a new high pressure pump.

The function of the Presenter can take the viewer on a video tour of the company, or product, and anchor all the different sections of the programme, linking everything together.

This can work very well online as a video stream.

And as mentioned above, a Presenter can equally front a B2C sales video, for example, when selling insurance to a workforce, or holidays to pensioners.

A well known famous presenter, such as a TV celebrity can be used if instant recognition is important, but this comes at a price, as celebs can cost thousands per day.

But with a famous celebrity, you can be sure that more people will watch your video, rather than pass by.

An unknown presenter can still work very well if recognition is less important. You can focus your efforts on the content of the video, which a presenter will lead-in and link.

The benefit of using an unknown in a company DVD is that they generally come for hundreds of pounds a day, rather than thousands.

And often a presenter is better than using professional voiceover, which is relatively dull by comparison with a real live switched-on person.

Importantly a presenter can show enthusiasm and generate emotion in a way that a “cold” business DVD cannot.

So you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Presenter-driven video programmes tend to be longer, though it’s not essential that they’re longer.

For a company documentary using a presenter you have to be certain that the target audience:

> is interested enough to watch 8-10 mins or more of your video

> has enough time available to view your business video

Domestic viewers will often sit down and watch a B2C DVD sent to them through the post, particularly if it includes a celeb that is appealing to the target audience, such as a star from a soap favoured by your chosen demographic sector.
