B2C or Business to Consumer video is about generating sales – right now!
Consumers want fun when they’re buying. We call it edu-tainment. Look at any of the television shopping channels for production examples.
These usually appear as in-store DVD. Retailers will sometimes want to promote high margin novelty or seasonal products with a b2c video.
The main retail candidates are FMCG (fast moving consumer goods)
You will almost certainly want to promote your consumer product online too as a webstream.
Neither of these types of b2c videos is a television advert. They’re short and to the point, and easy to remember, and followed with a buy-now message, but can last 1-2 minutes compare with a 30 second TV ad.
Online b2c videos can end on a pre-programmed flash screen which will allow them to click directly to the order form and buy – now.
Product credibility (ie, the product works like it says it’ll work) is more important than company credibility which can be secondary, or only actually matter when the credit card number is about to be given.
Being believed is the key point, which is often underpinned by powerful guarantees, and proof of claims.
